Solid Plastering - Mornington RightCoat Render - Plastering - Heritage - Renovations and Repairs
Cement rendering is the application of a premixed layer of sand and cement to brick, cement or stone. It is often textured, coloured or painted after application. It is generally used on exterior walls but can be used to feature an interior wall.
Depending on the 'look' required, rendering can be fine or coarse, textured or smooth, natural or coloured, pigmented or painted.

SAND & CEMENT PLASTERING
Sand & Cement Plastering is a three part process: splash coat, scratch coat and then floating coat. This can be sponged up for paint or used as preparation for a coloured texture or white setting internally.
We remove dirt and dust and any debris from walls. Apply a scratch coat or splash coat of either cement and sand with Bond Crete so as to build a base to make sure that it sticks to walls. Depending on the thickness required, we use aluminum bead or straight edges for corners. We use a final coat of 10mm thickness which usually contains sand and cement. To level the wall, we use a straight edge. After that, we float and finish the wall ready for top coat, white setting or painting
ROUGH CAST
Exterior WALLS AND FEATURES.
Roughcast is a coarse plaster surface used on outside walls that consists of lime and sometimes cement mixed with sand, small gravel, and often pebbles. The materials are mixed into a slurry and are then thrown at the working surface with a trowel or scoop. The idea is to maintain an even spread, free from lumps, ridges or runs and without missing any background.
WHITE SETTING
SMOOTH INTERNAL WALLS.
White Setting is the application of hard plaster on internal walls to create a smooth solid finish. Plaster (normally formulated with lime and hard-wall) is applied by hawk and trowel over the "Floated" surface. It is then trowelled over and over to create a blemish free, hard, flat and smooth surface that is ready to paint when cured or wax for a natural effect.
